A serious scandal of administrative protection has come to light. Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) is currently in the grip of a severe administrative crisis, forgery of documents and a serious scandal of nepotism, where the issue of the degree and illegal appointment of the university’s Deputy Registrar Abdul Wahad has become a big question mark on educational transparency.
Abdul Wahad had submitted an MBA transcript from the ‘College of Business Administration (CBA) Faisalabad’ affiliated to the ‘Philippine School of Business Administration  along with his job application in 2010 and 2011.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has clearly confirmed in its letter in August 2023 that the affiliation of this institution with the University of the Philippines was not approved by HEC, due to which the transcript or degree issued has no legal status.
Surprisingly, during the fact-finding committee and personal hearing, Abdul Wahad himself admitted that when he went to the institution after two years of studies, it was closed and he did not get a degree at all, but despite this, he presented a strange logic in response to the show cause notice that he was appointed based on B.Com and his experience, while the MBA transcript was attached as an additional credential.
The criminal negligence of the university’s scrutiny committee and recruitment office has also been exposed in this case, who shortlisted and appointed him without verifying the documents and 3 years of approved government experience at the time of recruitment.
The seriousness of the case can be gauged from the fact that two high-level inquiries (including one of the inquiry officers, the current Chairman of the Federal Board) have completely proven that these degrees and credentials are completely fake and a blatant fraud.
However, the most frightening and shameful aspect of this whole matter is that on the basis of the MBA degree which has been declared fake by the HEC and two inquiry committees, Abdul Wahad has also completed his PhD in Management from Pir Mehr Ali Shah Aird Agriculture University and now its notification is pending.
Getting a job on the basis of a fake and unrecognized degree and completing the highest academic degree (PhD) is proof of how dangerous and serious crime the university administration and the current Vice Chancellor are committing.
