National cricketer Muhammad Rizwan had his mobile phone confiscated in England around 1:30 AM, ostensibly “for the sake of Pakistan.”

According to sources, Rizwan was summoned from his hotel room to the lobby, where a PCB official and an unidentified individual were present; he was questioned regarding online betting companies and gambling activities, and a demand was made for his mobile phone.

Sources stated that Rizwan initially refused to hand over the phone, repeatedly asking why it was being taken and what the allegations were. However, after persistent insistence, he was told to surrender his device “for the sake of Pakistan,” prompting him to agree.

Rizwan was reportedly assured that the phone would be returned within a few hours. Since his flight back home was scheduled for the following day, he objected to returning without the phone and repeatedly inquired about it with the team manager but received no satisfactory response.

It later emerged that the mobile phone had reached the NCCIA in Lahore but had not yet been returned to Rizwan.
