Social media platform X has announced the introduction of a new revenue system for content creators worldwide. Its primary goal is to eliminate copied, stolen, and low-quality content from the platform and provide financial benefits only to creators of original content.
According to the notification the company sends periodically to creators, this new system is called the Original Content Rewards Program.
According to information published by X, the current AIDS Revenue Sharing Program will end completely on September 7, 2026, and formal applications for the new Original Content Rewards Program will begin on September 8, 2026.

X has clarified that users whose identity verification has already been completed and whose payment method is linked will not have to repeat this step; they can access their Creator Studio and check their eligibility at any time.
Since X began monetizing in Pakistan and some other countries, some unusual trends have been observed on the platform. In their quest to generate revenue, many accounts began sharing an unusual number of videos and posts. Some journalists and well-known content creators even hired teams whose sole purpose was to cut video clips from live television broadcasts and immediately upload them to X.
In addition, a large segment of users downloaded viral videos from other social media platforms (such as TikTok, Facebook, or Instagram) and posted them on X.
These creators believed that by uploading videos from other platforms to X, X’s algorithm wouldn’t detect the copyright infringement, and they would therefore continue to earn money from free engagement.
This entire situation flooded X’s feed with copied and unreliable content, quickly raising the question of how many users of this platform were truly striving to create original content and how many were simply making money by copying and pasting.
