Involvement of Police in the Corruption is not unique thing in Pakistan and time to time such stories vanish the image of police. Once again there is story that three patrol police officers, Sub-Inspector Adnan, Constable Mudassar, and Waqas, have been arrested for their connection with drug dealers. According to the initial report,the accused officers grab a large number of drugs while on duty but instead of reporting that to police station they sold the drugs and registered a case for only part of the recovered drugs.
The Gujarkhan Police recovered a significant quantity of drugs from a Dera during a raid to apprehend the accused. The three officers have been remanded into custody for five days, and it’s expected that further investigation will reveal more about their involvement in drug smuggling.
This incident highlights the issue of corruption within the police force, with some officers allegedly colluding with criminal elements and misusing their power for personal gain. The concerned department has been recommended to take strict departmental action against the accused officers.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. There have been previous cases of police officers being involved in drug trafficking and other corrupt activities.² It’s essential to address this issue to maintain public trust in the police force and ensure that justice is served.
