Pressure is mounting on Israel to take the ceasefire agreement in Gaza to the next stage, while the US President has once again reiterated his ‘determination to take control of Gaza’.

According to the Reports, after new details emerged regarding the hostages, pressure has increased on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to extend the ceasefire agreement to the next stage, for which a delegation has also been sent to Qatar for negotiations. The goal of the negotiations on the second stage of the ceasefire agreement is the release of more hostages and a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. The process was due to begin on February 3, but little progress has been made by either Israel or Hamas, and the matter has been delayed.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu sent a delegation to Qatar, the main mediator, but it includes relatively low-level officials, prompting speculation that the talks would not make much progress. Netanyahu, who has returned to Israel from the US after meeting President Trump, is expected to call a meeting of the security cabinet. While On Sunday, US President Donald Trump reiterated his “determination to take control of the Gaza Strip”.

He told reporters on Air Force One during his trip to the Super Bowl that “I am determined to buy Gaza and take ownership of it, as far as its reconstruction is concerned, we can give parts of it to other Middle Eastern states, but we will own it. “He said in clear words that ‘we are determined to take ownership of it and to ensure that Hamas does not return there.’

The US president also said that ‘Gaza is not worth returning to, everything has been destroyed, what is left will be destroyed. ‘Donald Trump said that Arab countries would agree to keep the Palestinians after talks with him. He stressed that if the people of Gaza had any other option, they would leave the area. ‘They do not want to go to Gaza, the reason they are leaving is because they have no alternative, if we can give them a safe place to live, they will not want to return.’

He referred to the hostages being released and said that he was losing his temper regarding the agreement given their condition.‘I saw the hostages who returned today, it looked like they had escaped the Holocaust. They looked very weak, I don’t know how long we can tolerate this.’ Similarly, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has also expressed happiness over the proposal to resettle the people of Gaza elsewhere, calling it a ‘revolutionary and creative idea’.

However, it has been rejected by Hamas, the Palestinians, and most of the world.Egypt says it will host an emergency Arab summit on February 27 to review “new and dangerous developments.”

Trump’s proposal faces implementation hurdles, as well as moral and legal hurdles. It could be a tactic to pressure Hamas or to open talks between Israel and Saudi Arabia to normalize relations.Saudi Arabia has condemned Netanyahu’s recent comments that the Palestinians could establish their own state there.

Saudi Arabia says it is “aimed at diverting attention from the occupation of Palestine and the war crimes committed against the Palestinians, including genocide.”

Qatar has called Netanyahu’s comments “provocative” and a violation of international law.
