Former MPA Mian Naveed and his guards are in hot water for allegedly torturing a driver, Farooq, over a trivial matter. The incident took an ugly turn when pictures and audio of the tortured driver went viral on social media, prompting higher police officials to take notice.
An FIR has been registered against Mian Naveed and his guards, Mubashir Khan and Rab Nawaz. While one guard has been arrested, Mian Naveed and the other guard are missing.
This isn’t Mian Naveed’s first brush with controversy. He was a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 2013 to 2023 and was even arrested after the Lahore High Court canceled his bail.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice for the victim. Driver Farooq had appealed to higher authorities for justice, and it remains to be seen how the case will unfold.
