The head of the United Nations agency, the World Food Program in Afghanistan, Hasavi Lee, has revealed that after the US suspends aid, the organization will be able to provide food to half of the 12 million Afghans, while the rest of the Afghans will be forced to beg and survive on tea and bread.
It should be remembered that due to international sanctions imposed on the Taliban government, economic activities in the country are almost non-existent and the country’s agriculture is unable to meet the food needs of the 42 million population.
Therefore, the World Food Program was providing food to millions of Afghans, which was much less after the US aid stopped. This will increase poverty, disease, and unemployment in the country, which is also a matter of concern for Pakistan.
