You must have heard the slogan ‘Two children is quite enough,’ which is used for family planning and population control. This slogan encourages people to focus on a limited and prosperous family instead of having more children. But in a state in India, the world’s most populous country, a special reward has been announced for women, advising them to have a third child.
According to Indian media, after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu supported incentives for having more children, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Kalisti Apala Naidu announced that women who give birth to a third child will be given a reward of Rs 50,000.
He also announced that if a woman had a third child, she would also be given a cow as a reward. He will pay this cash amount from his salary.
According to Indian media, MP Kalisti made this announcement at a function held on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Saturday. This announcement by the Telugu Desam Party MP is going viral on social media. TDP leaders and workers are sharing this offer in their social media posts.
According to TDP leaders, women appreciate this offer as a revolutionary step. It may be recalled that during his recent visit to New Delhi, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh expressed concern over the declining population in South India and said that the aging population was creating challenges.
He had stressed the need to have more children instead of controlling the population. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that he used to support family planning, but now he is changing his opinion and is advocating for an increase in the population.
