According to the spokesperson of Passport and Immigration, the decision was made in line with international standards and keeping in mind social needs. The aim of this move is to meet international requirements.
After this new system, the question is being raised that those who have already issued passports, will they have to get new passports? A final policy has not been issued in this regard yet.
On the other hand, officials say that the existing passports will remain valid until their expiry date, and the new change will be applicable to passports issued in the future.
