In a major development in Sindh, a surrender ceremony for dacoits was held in Shikarpur, where 71 hardened criminals laid down their arms and surrendered to the authorities.
Among those who surrendered were nine dacoits carrying head money, involved in the killing of police officials, 19 linked to the murder of six civilians, six involved in kidnapping for ransom, five in highway robberies, and 26 wanted in various police encounters and other criminal cases.
Those who surrendered included Sukheo Teghani and Sonaro Teghani, each carrying a bounty of Rs6 million; Gulzar Teghani and Mulla Teghani, each with a head money of Rs3 million; Nisar Sabzoi with Rs3 million; Lado Teghani and Jummo Teghani, each carrying a bounty of Rs2 million.
Others included Nooruddin Teghani, carrying Rs1.5 million head money, and Ghulam Hussain Tomo, with a bounty of Rs3 million.
