Security forces foiled an attack by terrorists in Bannu Cantt, killing five to six armed terrorists. After Iftar, two suicide bombers detonated an explosion near Kohati Gate, which caused a crack in the wall. The terrorists then tried to enter the cantt but were killed by the forces immediately.
The blasts caused a mosque to collapse in the nearby Kot Bara area, trapping fasting worshippers under the rubble. The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, where an emergency was imposed. Several people were injured as roofs collapsed in several areas due to the blasts.
According to the District Headquarters Hospital records, 10 people were seriously injured, and a child was martyred.
The Gul Bahadur group of the banned organization TTP has claimed responsibility for the attack. Security forces cordoned off the area immediately after the attack and started an investigation.
