A scuffle broke out at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport between female passengers and customs officials. The altercation began when passengers from a flight arriving from Abu Dhabi protested the delay in clearing their luggage, which included valuable items like CCTV cameras.

The situation escalated into a physical fight, with reports indicating that the passengers and customs officials engaged in slapping and hair-pulling. One passenger was detained for assaulting a customs officer, and a formal case has been filed. The customs officials had grabbed one of the female passengers by the hair and dragged her, prompting other passengers to intervene and clash with the officials.

The luggage, including the disputed items, was confiscated by customs officials. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings against the passengers involved. According to customs officials, the argument began over the search of passengers and their belongings, with one female passenger allegedly hitting the officials with her shoes.

This incident highlights the challenges faced by customs officials in balancing security protocols with passenger rights. Delays in clearing luggage can lead to frustration, as seen in this case where passengers felt their belongings were not being processed efficiently.
