Islamabad: Shocking details have emerged in the ongoing case of social media influencer Samia Hijab Case, with accused Hassan Zahid making startling claims during police interrogation. According to sources close to Zahid, he alleged that Samia, originally from Chakwal, had been living in Rawalpindi and later shifted to Islamabad’s E-11 sector with her mother and younger brother.
Zahid, a resident of Lahore involved in the trade of luxury vehicles across Lahore, Faisalabad, and Islamabad, reportedly befriended Samia around eight months ago. He claimed that he rented her current residence for Rs150,000 per month and also provided her with a new black Honda Civic on a monthly rent of Rs125,000. In addition, Zahid is said to have covered household utility bills and lavish expenses while often residing with Samia’s family.
The accused further alleged that Samia developed an addiction to cocaine, with him spending significant sums weekly to finance it. He claimed that he frequently entrusted her with millions of rupees in cash from vehicle sales, and tensions escalated when Rs5 million allegedly kept with Samia was not returned. Zahid told investigators that the confrontation turned physical, and during a heated exchange outside their residence, Samia attempted to seize his phone before he drove away.
Days later, Samia uploaded a video on social media seeking police protection against alleged death threats from Zahid, leading to the registration of an FIR and his subsequent arrest. Zahid is currently under police remand while investigations continue.
Contradicting his version, sources close to Samia accused Zahid of being a fraudster engaged in a fake car business, claiming he lived off her finances for months while coercing her into marriage. They allege he subjected her to violence, issued threats to kill her, and even attempted abduction.
Police have confirmed that the accused remains in custody on physical remand, with investigators scrutinizing financial transactions, property records, and both parties’ claims. Officials stated that further facts will only be determined upon completion of the investigation.
