ISLAMABAD: Members of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) voiced strong criticism over the dilapidated condition of roads in Karachi and Hyderabad during a meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Government Assurances.
The lawmakers accused the Ministry of Communications of misrepresenting the ground reality, saying the photographs shown by the ministry bore no resemblance to the actual state of the roads.
PPP MNA Shagufta Jamani, while highlighting the plight of commuters, remarked that traveling by road from Hyderabad to Larkana was so arduous that “one’s back cannot remain intact.”
The committee directed the authorities concerned to present accurate updates and take urgent steps to address the worsening road infrastructure in Sindh.
