Rawalpindi – A major scandal of illegal liquor sales has been exposed at Pearl Continental (PC), one of Rawalpindi’s most prominent hotels. According to sources, liquor was being sold illegally inside the hotel and supplied to guests at exorbitant black-market prices.
In a joint operation, the police and excise department conducted raids in different sections of the hotel and seized liquor stockpiles. Initial reports suggest that some hotel staff, members of the management, and local suppliers were involved in this illegal trade.
Sources revealed that VIP floor guests were the primary targets of this illicit business, where alcohol was provided at heavy prices. Several suspects have been taken into custody for interrogation, while the excise department has forwarded a detailed report of the incident to higher authorities.
Civil society groups and local residents have welcomed the crackdown, demanding strict legal action against those responsible to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
