She made these remarks during a painting competition held at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkiye, organized by the Yunus Emre Institute and Education Counselor office. The event celebrated the Pakistan-Turkiye friendship, with students showcasing their artistic talents through paintings.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye, Dr. Mehmet Irfan Nezıroglu, and the Head of the Pakistan Chapter of the Yunus Emre Institute, Dr. Halil Tokar, also addressed the gathering. Minister Wajiha Qamar emphasized that the friendship between Pakistan and Turkiye is not bound by time or circumstances, and both nations have always been willing to assist each other in times of need. She congratulated the Yunus Emre Institute for organizing the painting competition, describing it as a creative effort to pass on the love and friendship between the two nations to future generations.
The painting competition was held in two categories, with students aged 7-11 and 12-16 participating. The artworks submitted by the students were a vivid representation of the deep friendship between the two countries. The ambassador of Turkiye congratulated the award-winning students, saying that the children’s paintings gave new hope through the power of their imagination. Dr. Halil Tokar remarked that Pakistan and Turkiye may be two countries, but they share one nation within, and the Yunus Emre Institute will continue to work towards fostering cultural unity between them.
The competition was a huge success, with over 1,500 students participating. The winners were awarded cash prizes, with the first, second, and third position holders receiving PKR 100,000, PKR 50,000, and PKR 25,000 respectively. Special prizes were also awarded to several students, each receiving PKR 10,000. The event was a celebration of the strong bond between Pakistan and Turkiye, and the Yunus Emre Institute’s efforts to promote cultural exchange and understanding between the two nations.
