Speaking to the Correspondent of The INQUIRER and delegation of Digital Media Alliance, President RIUJ Tariq Ali Virk said that our final Federal Executive Council meeting in Pakistan was held in Gujranwala, and it was decided that our digital media partners should be Membership will be given. Not all digital media people can be journalists. Journalists will be those who are doing the work that is required according to the principles of journalism.
In this regard, we have thought that you people are in the field all day long. You make more effort and work harder than the people on the channel. So you are present everywhere. That is why we decided that you people will be given membership in all the press clubs and unions in Pakistan so that you too can become part of us and work together as journalists. We know what power digital media has. Now there is no other option than that. We cannot leave our colleagues. Everyone has come to digital media. If he is a big journalist, if he is not able to talk on any TV channel, he does his program. There are many things that he cannot talk about in his talk show, so he comes and makes his vlog on social media and tweets because channels also have their constraints. They have to do business and apart from that they have other constraints. There are different kinds of pressure on them.
If you can’t do this, digital media is a big platform where every person can come and express their opinion. Expressing opinion is the fundamental right of every Pakistani, which is also allowed by the Constitution of Pakistan. Therefore, it was decided that we will give membership to you people and we are struggling together. Insha Allah, we are with you. If any colleague has any issues, we are here for you. You can contact us at any time. So I am grateful to you colleagues. On behalf of our entire body, they have expressed hope that you will continue to be a part of our protests in the future as well.
