The highly anticipated web series “Mader-e-Millat” based on the life of Fatima Jinnah is nearing its release. After multiple delays, the production team is considering possible release dates, including July 31 (Fatima Jinnah’s birthday), July 9 (Fatima Jinnah’s death anniversary), and December 25 (Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday).
The series took over three years to prepare, with shooting done at 92 colonial-era locations. The cast includes Sarmad Khoosat, Kubra Khan, Usman Mukhtar, Munzar Sehbai, Samina Ahmed, and Amna Ilyas. Usman Mukhtar plays the role of Allama Iqbal, while Sarmad Khoosat will be seen as Mahatma Gandhi.
The story of the series consists of different periods of Fatima Jinnah’s life, presenting her childhood, youth, role in the freedom movement, and the situation after the establishment of Pakistan. There will be three seasons of the series, each season consisting of 15 episodes. The first season will present the childhood and youth of Fatima Jinnah, played by Sundas Farhan. Sajal Ali will take on the role of Fatima Jinnah in the second season, while Samia Mumtaz will play this role in the third season.
A 15-minute trailer was released last year, showcasing the series’ scope and historical significance. The trailer shows scenes of Fatima Jinnah before the formation of Pakistan, during the formation of Pakistan, and the massacres that took place during that time. It also shows heartbreaking scenes of the bodies of children, women, and men on the train. The trailer indicates that the series will have many characters and will also show the political and religious conditions of the time.
The release of “Mader-e-Millat” has been delayed before. Initially, it was announced to be released on August 14, 2022, but this could not be possible. Later, a new release date was given on August 14, 2023, but even on this occasion, only the original soundtrack of the series was released. The production company has not stated the reasons for the delay, but it is still being claimed that the series will soon be presented on digital platforms and TV screens. With its rich historical content and engaging storyline, “Mader-e-Millat” is expected to captivate audiences and provide a deeper understanding of Fatima Jinnah’s life and Pakistan’s history.
