Law enforcement agencies carried out a significant raid at the residence of Malik Waseem, also known as Nooni Bhai, a cousin of Bahria Town owner Malik Riaz, in Rawalpindi’s Qasim Market area late last night. Malik Waseem was taken into custody and moved to an undisclosed location by the authorities. This operation follows a broader pattern of intensified action targeting individuals associated with Malik Riaz Hussain, who is currently based in Dubai.

Earlier, a similar high-profile raid took place in Bahria Town Phase 8, where multiple officers and employees from the Accounts and Services Department of Bahria Town were detained and transported to unknown locations. In a separate development, law enforcement also arrested former Director Land Brigadier (R) Zafar from his home in DHA Phase 1, adding to the list of prominent individuals linked to Bahria Town being apprehended.

These coordinated actions appear to be part of a broader government directive aimed at cracking down on associates and relatives of Malik Riaz. The clampdown has been visibly ramped up over recent weeks. On July 13, intelligence agencies apprehended Malik Riaz’s brother, Malik Farhat, from Islamabad International Airport. In another related operation just two days ago, Colonel (R) Khalil-ur-Rehman, a close aide to Malik Riaz, was also arrested during a late-night raid at his residence.

According to sources, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has compiled a list of approximately 250 individuals connected to Malik Riaz and his extended circle. These individuals are expected to face charges under money laundering laws as investigations continue to unfold.
