Kasur – In a shocking turn of events, the main suspect in the brutal rape and murder of four-year-old Noor Fatima committed suicide during a police raid late last night in Olakh Bonga, Kasur.
According to police, the incident began when Phoolnagar Sadar Police Station received a call on helpline 15 yesterday evening, reporting that Noor Fatima had gone missing around 2 p.m. Earlier, her uncle had lodged a formal kidnapping case related to the ongoing concerns surrounding the Kasur Child Abuse Case, prompting immediate action by the police.
Announcements were made in mosques, and extensive search operations were launched in the area. At around 11 p.m., the child’s body was discovered inside an under-construction house, just 200 meters from her residence.
The tragic events surrounding the Kasur Child Abuse Case have sparked national outrage and calls for justice.
District Police Officer (DPO) Kasur, along with the SP Investigation and other senior officers, reached the scene, while forensic teams, including Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) and Crime Scene Unit, were called to collect evidence.
The post-mortem examination confirmed the worst fears: Noor Fatima had been subjected to sexual assault before being murdered. The heinous crime shocked the local community and presented a major challenge for law enforcement.
Police teams interrogated at least 25 suspects from the village, relying on both human intelligence and scientific methods. Investigations eventually led to the prime suspect, identified as 19-year-old Wasif, a resident of Olakh Bonga.
When SHO Phoolnagar Sadar Raheel Khan and his team conducted a raid to arrest him, the suspect reportedly shot himself, dying on the spot. His body has been shifted to the hospital for post-mortem examination.
The case has once again drawn attention to the alarming pattern of child abuse incidents in Kasur district, raising urgent questions about child protection, community awareness, and preventive policing.
