Islamabad Police takes strict measures against corrupt officials

The Islamabad Police has indeed taken strict action against its personnel for various misconducts and allegations. While the exact number of dismissed officers isn’t consistently reported across sources, several instances of dismissals have been documented¹ ² ³:

Dismissals for Misconduct:

  • 15 personnel, including 5 Head Constables and 7 Constables, were dismissed for negligence in duty and misuse of authority in April 2025.
  • 2 Sub-Inspectors, Ishtiaq Hussain and Asif Hayat, were dismissed for misconduct, incompetence, and unprofessional behavior in March 2025.

– Action Against Drug-Related Offenses:

  • 13 police personnel, including a former Station House Officer, were dismissed for alleged links with drug networks in April 2025.
  • In a similar crackdown, 17 officials in Rawalpindi were dismissed for having ties with drug dealers, as reported on May 24, 2025.

Other Instances:

  • 3 personnel were dismissed for harassing a family in the federal capital, showcasing the police department’s efforts to maintain professionalism.

The Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has emphasized the importance of accountability within the police force, ensuring that officers perform their duties with honesty and integrity. If the allegations against the dismissed officers are proven, the department may uphold the dismissal orders. However, if the allegations are unfounded, the officers might be reinstated
