The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced October 1 as the final deadline for motorists to obtain their driving licenses, warning that strict action will be taken against those found driving without one after the cutoff date. Chief Traffic Officer Captain (retd) Hamza Humayun said that anyone caught driving a car or motorcycle without a valid license will face legal action, including registration of cases, arrests, and vehicle impoundment.
The CTO stressed that the campaign will be implemented without discrimination, regardless of social status or background, adding that driving without a license endangers not only the driver’s life but also the safety of others on the road. He assured that the ITP will provide maximum facilitation to citizens until October 1 through its Faizabad Traffic Office, F-6 Facilitation Center, and mobile traffic facilitation vans.
Citizens have also been directed to carry the physical copy of their licenses at all times, as digital copies will not be accepted. “Show responsibility as law-abiding citizens by obtaining your license and avoid legal consequences,” Humayun urged, reaffirming that the police will not allow any individual to put the lives of others at risk.
