The Islamabad Police, under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, achieved remarkable success in 2024. The department effectively tackled various crimes, resulting in the arrest of 24,387 accused individuals involved in serious and other crimes.

 

Key Achievements:

 

Recovery of Stolen Property: Stolen goods worth over 2.38 billion were recovered from the arrested individuals.

Gang-Related Crimes: 1,531 suspects from 657 gangs involved in robbery, car, and motorcycle theft were apprehended, with 429 vehicles and 763 motorcycles recovered.

Property Cases: 4,038 accused were arrested for property-related crimes, with stolen property worth over 1.74 billion recovered.

Illegal Weapons: 1,980 individuals were arrested for possessing illegal weapons, with significant recoveries including 148 Kalashnikovs, 43 guns, and 18,834 ammunition.

 

Special Initiatives:

 

– “Nasha Ab Nahi” Campaign: A special awareness campaign was launched to make Islamabad drug-free, resulting in 1,723 cases registered against drug dealers and 1,811 accused arrested.

– Establishment of Model Police Stations: Trained staff were deployed at the front desks of police stations, and police guides were stationed at the gates to ensure effective policing.

– Women’s Reconciliation Bureau: A dedicated bureau was established to resolve women’s issues, providing various services to over 160,000 citizens.

 

The Islamabad Police also provided full security to citizens, with 29 officers awarded Ghazi and 5 Shujaat medals for their outstanding performance. However, four officers made the ultimate sacrifice while ensuring the safety of citizens during law and order situations
