For the first time in its thousand-year history, the call to prayer rang out in the state apartments of Windsor Castle at iftar time. According to British media, St. George’s Hall is usually used to entertain heads of state and for special banquets.

However, there was a mix of Muslims here at iftar time in the first Ramadan. A banquet was organized, and the building echoed with the Maghrib call to prayer. As soon as the call to prayer sounded, the fasting people broke their fast with dates, following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.

More than 350 Muslims broke their first fast of Ramadan at St. George’s Hall in the spirit of religious harmony and tolerance. On this occasion, St. George’s Hall was decorated with white sheets and covered with food and drinks. Simon Maples, director of visitor operations at Windsor Castle, said that the monarch has been promoting religious diversity and encouraging interfaith dialogue for many years.

It should be noted that this iftar was organized by a charity organization whose aim is to promote religious harmony.
