Today, January 17, 2025, in the 190 million pounds reference against Imran Khan, Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Accountability Court pronounced the written verdict.
In which the founder of PTI Imran Khan has been sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment with hard labor and a fine of 10 lakhs, his wife Bushra Bibi has been sentenced to 7 years in prison and a fine of 500,000 while Al Qadir University has been ordered to be taken into official custody.
On December 18, 2024, the court had reserved the decision and despite giving three dates, the verdict was not announced. If take a keen eye into it, the case went on for almost a year, 100 hearings were held and three judges were changed. Even several lawyers of PTI were not allowed to enter.
In all this case Imran Khan and his spouse were not alone but Malik Riaz of Bahria Town, Mian Nawaz Sharif’s son, who was also related to the case, did not appear a single time.
