The Islamabad Police personnel have been working non-stop for six months, with their vacations canceled due to political instability. Their duty hours are grueling 24/7, with no facilities provided during their shifts after forcing them to bear all expenses from their own pockets.
The police force is responsible for securing high-risk government institutions and dealing with daily protests from various departments and organizations. The head of the Islamabad Police Force has adopted a demanding schedule, being awake for 22 hours and sleeping for only two hours, which has increased mental tension within the force.
The constant misbehavior of subordinates, lack of support, and poor leadership have contributed to the rise in incidents of murder, theft, and robbery in the city. The youth of the police force are mentally and physically exhausted, and it’s essential that the IG Islamabad sends his subordinates on vacation periodically and determines their duty hours to prevent further burnout and potentially tragic consequences
