During the year, the Islamabad Police Education Team organized 141 workshops/classes for citizens, in which a total of more than 280,000 citizens, traffic violators, and citizens who obtained driving license learner permits were educated about road safety and traffic rules.
According to the details, in light of the special orders of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police has launched a campaign to provide awareness about road safety and traffic rules to various private and government educational institutions of Islamabad, various government and non-government institutions, and people violating traffic rules and citizens obtaining driving licenses.
In this regard, 141 road safety workshops were organized at the traffic headquarters of Islamabad Police during the current year for lawbreakers, driving learner permit holders, and other officials, in which more than 280,000 citizens were made aware of road safety and traffic rules so that citizens can keep themselves and others safe while driving. Islamabad Police Education Wing is using its professional skills and all resources to provide awareness about traffic rules and road safety to citizens. The main objective of these workshops is to create order among citizens.
The aim is to create awareness about the dangers of listening to mobile phones while driving, the use of seat belts, the dangers of riding a motorcycle without a helmet, respecting the rights of other road users, the use of zebra crossings, the dangers of speeding, the prohibition of tinted glasses, walking on the road and other traffic rules. Awareness pamphlets are also being distributed to the citizens by the Islamabad Police Education Wing. This initiative of the Islamabad Police has been highly appreciated by the citizens and they say that the Islamabad Police’s efforts to provide awareness about road safety and traffic rules to the citizens is commendable.
SSP Traffic Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk said that the officers of the Islamabad Police perform their duties with utmost honesty and dedication and provide all possible help to the public. Providing traffic rules and road safety awareness to the citizens is a good initiative by the Islamabad Police. On this occasion, an appeal has been made to the citizens to abide by the law and act responsibly.
