The Donald Trump administration has released $5.3 billion in frozen foreign aid funds, including $397 million for a US-backed program in Pakistan.
According to a US congressional official, the US-backed program is related to monitoring Pakistan’s use of F-16 aircraft, the monitoring ensures that the F-16 aircraft are used in counter-terrorism operations and not against India.
According to the news agency, less than $100 million in funds were released for USAID programs. Most of the funds released by the United States were released in the form of security and counter-narcotics, and the share of humanitarian aid in the released funds is very limited.
It should be noted that US President Donald Trump ordered a halt to foreign aid after taking office.
