ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have once again arrested former Superintendent of Police SP Traffic Arif Shah, in connection with a new case involving the abduction and alleged murder of a young man.

According to the complainant, the youth had been kidnapped and a First Information Report (FIR) was registered with the local police.

Authorities now confirm that the victim has died, and a full investigation is underway.

This is not the first time Arif Shah has faced serious allegations, in March 2022, he was a key suspect in the mysterious death of Lady Constable Iqra Nazir.

Iqra Nazir, a graduate of Karachi University who joined Islamabad Police in 2019, had been living at Arif Shah’s official residence. On 18 March 2022, she was brought unconscious to Polyclinic Hospital, where she died during treatment. The initial medical report indicated poisoning as the cause of death.

Following her death, the police revoked interim bails of Arif Shah and two other suspects.

While the medical examination ruled out rape, it confirmed the presence of a toxic substance in Iqra’s system.

Investigators also recovered extensive call logs and message records between Shah and Iqra, pointing to a close relationship.

In September 2022, the Islamabad High Court granted bail to Arif Shah and the co-accused, but the case remained under judicial review.

Now, with fresh allegations of kidnapping and murder, Arif Shah finds himself once again under the spotlight.

Police authorities say they are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the full truth and ensure justice is served.
