The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) recently distributed possession letters to allottees of plots in the Sky Garden Housing Scheme, Block A. The ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, who handed over possession letters to the allottees. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the FGEHA and the allottees who have waited years for the project’s completion.
The Sky Garden Housing Scheme is a joint venture between FGEHA and Commoners Sky Garden, signed in 2019. The project spans over 11,000 kanals of scenic hilly area near the New Murree Expressway, with more than 7,200 kanals transferred to FGEHA. Initially designated for federal employees registered during the 2009 membership drive, the project comprises ten residential blocks, with development work ongoing. Under Phase I, allottees have now been granted possession of plots in Block A, which covers 250 kanals and is fully developed, equipped with all basic amenities, and clear for handover.
Speaking to the media, Federal Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada expressed satisfaction over the progress, stating, “After a long and testing wait, the allottees are finally witnessing tangible progress. It is deeply satisfying for me. Those who invested their hard-earned savings and waited patiently for years are now seeing their dreams materialize.” The Minister reaffirmed his commitment to completing all ongoing projects in a timely manner and eliminating corruption, condemning past inefficiencies and delays. He emphasized a zero-tolerance policy and highlighted his dedication to public service, having been elected six times to national and provincial assemblies.
On this occasion, the Minister also announced the upcoming submission of a summary proposing the allotment of plots to families of martyrs from police and intelligence agencies as a token of respect and acknowledgment for their sacrifices. The ceremony was also addressed by the Secretary for Housing & Works and the Director General of FGEHA. The DG briefed the participants on the current status of the project and expressed optimism that possession of three additional blocks would be available to allottees by December 2025. He further announced that development work for Lifestyle Residencia, Kashmir Avenue Apartments, and Sectors F-14 and F-15 will commence by September 2025.
The allottees expressed immense satisfaction and joy over the realization of their long-awaited dreams, extending special thanks to Honorable Federal Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada, the Secretary Housing, and the entire FGEHA administration for their tireless efforts, transparent policies, and effective leadership that made this milestone possible. The project had faced significant challenges, including delays due to NAB investigations and Supreme Court scrutiny. However, after clearance from the relevant institutions, the project has gained momentum. The FGEHA has expressed optimism about completing the project and delivering quality housing facilities to its members. With the distribution of possession letters, the allottees can now look forward to building their homes in a scenic and well-planned environment. The successful completion of this project will not only benefit the allottees but also contribute to the development of the housing sector in the country.
