A disturbing incident has emerged from Rawalpindi, where a woman alleges she was subjected to indecent acts under the pretense of spiritual healing. The victim, Farkhunda Begum, wife of Muhammad Rafaqat and a resident of Baloch Tehsil, District Bandhuti, Azad Kashmir, claims that she had been suffering from epilepsy for a long time. Despite undergoing extensive medical treatment, her condition showed no signs of improvement.
Desperate for a cure, she came across a man on TikTok who identified himself as Pir Khurram Tasawid Dave. He claimed to treat various ailments through spiritual methods involving the recitation of Durood and reportedly showcased several testimonials of individuals who claimed to have been healed by him.

Farkhunda Begum discussed this with her uncle, Tariq Mahmood, who was aware of her medical history. Tariq subsequently contacted Pir Khurram and arranged a meeting. The Pir initially demanded one lakh rupees for his services. On the night of May 15th, around midnight, Farkhunda and her uncle went to visit him.

Surprisingly, the Pir only took five thousand rupees initially and then led the woman to an upstairs room, allegedly to begin the healing ritual. According to the statement, as the treatment began, Pir Khurram started behaving inappropriately. Tariq Mahmood, who followed them upstairs out of concern, witnessed the entire scene. Farkhunda reported that Khurram began performing indecent acts under the guise of spiritual treatment, removing her belt and claiming that jinns had possessed her. He also gave her water to drink, which she says made her feel unconscious.

As her condition worsened, Tariq attempted to take her to a hospital. At this point, Pir Khurram allegedly became aggressive, demanding the remaining ninety-five thousand rupees and threatening to kill them if the payment was not made. Fearing for their safety, both Farkhunda and Tariq became alarmed.

Eventually, as her health deteriorated further, the accused handed them an amulet and permitted Tariq to take her to the hospital.

In her formal complaint, Farkhunda has requested legal action against Pir Khurram for deceit, threats, and indecent conduct that compromised her dignity. Based on the victim’s petition, Waris Khan Police registered a case (FIR No. 687/25) and promptly arrested the accused. The case highlights growing concerns about fraudulent spiritual healers exploiting vulnerable individuals under the pretense of religious or supernatural intervention, and the need for stricter regulations to protect people from such predatory practices.
