Director General Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi announces a good news to Pakistanis as end the backlog of passports across the country.

DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi paid a surprise visit to the passport production unit and reviewed the process of printing and issuing passports.

DG Passports says that a record 33 lakh 76 thousand 510 passports have been printed since July 1, 7 lakh 76 thousand 451 passports of normal category and 18 lakh 96 thousand 403 passports of urgent category have been printed.

DG Immigration and Passports said that 7 lakh 3 thousand 656 applications applied under the fast track category were dealt with, the hard work of the production team worked day and night without leave.

He said that citizens can receive their passports without waiting for messages or e-mails. The delivery of citizens’ passports has been completed in all regional passport offices. The process of issuing passports to citizens will continue in a timely manner.

The government’s initiative to expedite passport printing and enable 24/7 applications will greatly benefit citizens. Notably, the passport office has generated over 50 billion rupees in revenue for the national treasury, despite operating on a modest budget of only 2 billion rupees. Upgrading the passport office to a passport authority would likely boost the national economy even further, making it an attractive proposition for the government to consider.
