Islamabad: The Ministry of Interior has decided to construct a new cricket stadium in the capital to address traffic congestion issues experienced during cricket matches.
According to sources, an international-standard cricket stadium will be built in Sector D-12 of Islamabad.
Sources say the Interior Minister has instructed the Chairman of the CDA to complete the project within one year.
As per reports, a Dubai-style modern cricket stadium will be constructed in Islamabad. Building the stadium away from the city center is expected to eliminate traffic problems.
Sources further reveal that a seven-star hotel will also be constructed near the stadium, providing accommodation facilities for international teams. Modern parking, security, and transport infrastructure will be part of the project.
According to sources, features similar to the Dubai Sports Complex will be introduced in Islamabad.
