Altaf Ahmed Bhat, Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), paid glowing tribute to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on his 148th birth anniversary.
In his statement, he highlighted Quaid-e-Azam’s unmatched leadership, which not only resulted in the creation of Pakistan but also united millions of Muslims under a common cause. His vision and determination continue to serve as an inspiration for oppressed nations, particularly the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Altaf Ahmed Bhat stated that Quaid-e-Azam’s leadership was rooted in his unwavering commitment to justice and equality. He not only laid the foundation for a new state but also gave a distinct identity to Muslims, ensuring their political, social, and cultural survival. Under his guidance, the All-India Muslim League passed the historic Lahore Resolution in 1940, a turning point in the struggle for a separate homeland for Muslims. This resolution, Bhat said, became the cornerstone of the Pakistan Movement and is a testament to Quaid-e-Azam’s political foresight.
Bhat remarked that Quaid-e-Azam’s ability to unite Muslims from diverse regions and backgrounds into a single, cohesive force remains unparalleled in history. Despite immense challenges, he transformed the All-India Muslim League into a powerful political party and successfully articulated the need for a separate state on a global platform. After years of relentless struggle, Pakistan emerged as an independent nation on 14 August 1947 under his dynamic leadership.
He pointed out that Quaid-e-Azam’s vision remains as relevant today as it was during his lifetime. The ongoing oppression and discrimination faced by Muslims in India, particularly under the BJP regime, vindicate Quaid-e-Azam’s belief that Muslims needed a separate homeland to preserve their identity and rights. Even his critics now acknowledge the wisdom of his political acumen and the necessity of his demand for Pakistan.
Altaf Ahmed Bhat emphasized that Quaid-e-Azam’s struggle offers valuable lessons for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He urged them to draw inspiration from his life and remain steadfast in their peaceful struggle for self-determination. He called for unity among Kashmiris, transcending divisions, and working together to achieve their long-denied rights.
Bhat also appealed to the international community to take notice of the sacrifices and resilience of the Kashmiri people. He stated that just as Quaid-e-Azam succeeded in overcoming monumental challenges through determination and unity, the people of Jammu and Kashmir will also achieve their goal of freedom through perseverance and justice.
Concluding his statement, Altaf Ahmed Bhat reiterated that Quaid-e-Azam’s legacy of justice, unity, and perseverance will forever serve as a guiding light for oppressed nations worldwide.
Bhat also paid heartfelt tribute to all the defense institutions of Pakistan, especially to the martyrs who have laid down their lives for the defense and sovereignty of our beloved country. He urged the people of Pakistan to stand united and organized in safeguarding and strengthening the nation. “Pakistan, a God-gifted state, stands as a fortress not only for its people but also for Muslims across the globe, embodying their aspirations and strength”. He added
