During the departmental inquiry, undeniable evidence of Rs 124 crore being transferred from two APPP accounts – Employees Related Expanse (ERE) and Provident Fund (PF) – to the accounts of some APP employees came to light.

A departmental inquiry found important financial documents from 2001 to 2023 missing.

The financial documents included cash books, salary/pension credit sheets and the master ledger for the period.

The corrupt gang deliberately kept financial records out of the reach of the administration and transferred Rs 124 crore from just these two accounts of the state-run news agency to their personal accounts. Sources…

With the connivance of bank staff, one member of the corrupt gang transferred Rs 4.7 million from the APP government account to his own account, while another employee transferred Rs 15.4 million from the APP ERE account to his personal account. The inquiry report revealed

The corrupt gang did not even spare APP’s Provident Fund (PF) and 16 people transferred Rs. 910.4 million to their personal accounts with the connivance of bank staff.

Former senior officials, managers, clerical staff and bank employees were found involved in the embezzlement and the FIA was contacted for further action against them and recovery of the looted funds.

NAB is also being contacted to recover the money looted from corrupt employees. The employees have been found guilty in a departmental inquiry.

The departmental inquiry has found undeniable evidence that these employees transferred Rs 1.24 billion from APP accounts to personal accounts with the connivance of bank staff.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar had issued orders to MDAPP to restore the institution’s financial autonomy and take action against corrupt elements.

After the APP departmental inquiry report came out, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar had issued instructions to APP MD Muhammad Asim Kachhi to secure the accounts for the future and refer the cases of corrupt elements to the relevant institutions.

Despite the departmental inquiry proving the loot and providing all the evidence, influential corrupt APP employees were influencing the FIA inquiry.

The court has summoned the parties on April 7 for further action on the FIR registered.
