Goods worth Rs 100 million disappeared from a locker of a private bank in Karachi’s Defense area, and a local businessman filed a case of the incident at Darakhshan police station, and the bank operations manager and others have been named in the case.
According to the sources, a large locker was booked in July 2009, in which gold jewelry, diamond sets, wristwatches, and foreign currency worth Rs 100 million were kept at different times. The FIR states that on February 19, 2025, when the businessman’s wife opened the locker, the iron box was not there; the iron box contained cash, jewelry, and watches.
The First Information Report further said that when the bank operations manager and locker custodian were informed in this regard, they started looking for the box. Later, the empty iron box was present in the corner, along with other boxes.
The jewelry pouches were found empty inside the ceiling above the lockers. When they went to the bank again two days later, the staff also removed some empty jewelry boxes and a watch box from the lockers.
The petitioner said that it is suspected that the branch manager, along with the staff, stole the goods.
