The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its efforts against drug smuggling with a series of successful operations conducted across multiple cities in the country. In five separate operations, ANF arrested five suspects and seized a total of 483.800 kilograms of narcotics and related substances, with an estimated value exceeding Rs. 73 lakh 34 thousand.

In Rawalpindi, officials intercepted a suspicious parcel at the Cargo Office, which was intended for Karachi. Upon inspection, it was found to contain 2 kilograms of hashish along with 7 kilograms of unidentified suspicious material. In another major operation near RCD Road in Hub, 24 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of two suspects.

A second operation in the same vicinity uncovered 64.8 kilograms of hashish hidden in secret compartments of a vehicle. The driver was taken into custody at the scene. Meanwhile, in Karachi, ANF raided a warehouse located on Adamji Dawood Road, where 384 kilograms of potassium permanganate—a chemical often used in drug production—were recovered and a suspect was apprehended.

In a separate operation in Hyderabad, 2 kilograms of opium were recovered from a passenger bus traveling on the National Highway, resulting in the arrest of one individual.
All the arrested suspects have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotics Control Act. Investigations are underway to determine the full scope of the smuggling networks involved and to identify any additional accomplices.
