The Horse and Cattle Show, which was started on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is successfully continuing in Lahore. This show was first organized in 1964 and the Horse and Cattle Show held in 1995 proved to be the last.

Now, after 30 years, it has been organized again, and for the first time, 70 international teams are part of this show. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif attended its inauguration ceremony and formally inaugurated the three-day show.

On this occasion, national and international teams paraded, cultural floats were seen, camel dances were seen along with traditional dances, drumming was performed, torch, laser light, and drone shows were held and renowned singers showed their talents.

The inauguration ceremony celebrated the diverse cultural and agricultural heritage of the country. This traditional fair will continue till the end of this month, in which farmers will get an opportunity to exhibit their domestic and useful animals, while they will also be encouraged with prizes. In this show, besides horse riding, spear fighting, archery, kabaddi, and polo competitions, children’s games, food and music festivals, car shows, cultural festivals, flower exhibitions, and flower decoration competitions are also being organized. A Sufi festival will also be organized to pay tribute to the Sufis and elders of the province and to popularize their teachings.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that the Horse and Cattle Show is a gift for all sections of people of Punjab, including farmers. Horse and Cattle Shows are the hallmark of agricultural countries all over the world. After three decades, the organization of this show will also make it possible to restore the glorious traditions and culture of the past, where agriculture and livestock will flourish.

If we further discuss the details of such an event: There will be games and other entertainment events for children till 23.

  1. The show will be held at various locations in Lahore until February 23.
  2. Music festivals were held from February 14 to 16 to promote music. A Sufi festival was held on February 19 to pay tribute to Sufi saints.
  3. Kabaddi competitions were held on February 18 and 19, while a car show for rare vehicle enthusiasts was held on February 16.
