Kashif Abbasi, a trader at Islamabad’s Vegetable Market, was abducted in broad daylight near Nescom Hospital, just 400 meters away from the IG office. This incident occurred after Kashif Abbasi visited the IG office regarding a case involving his brother, Atif Abbasi.
According to eyewitnesses, four armed men dressed in civilian clothes and driving a silver car, dragged Kashif Abbasi and his companions, Haji Naeem Abbasi and Shakeel Abbasi, into their vehicle at gunpoint. Despite a call being made to the police emergency number 15 and a request to the SHO of Sabzi Mandi police station, no action has been taken yet to recover Kashif Abbasi or apprehend the kidnappers.
It’s alarming that the kidnappers seem to have challenged the authority of the IG Islamabad, and the fact that the abduction occurred in a supposedly secure area near Safe City raises concerns about the effectiveness of law enforcement in the region.
