On the very first flight to Paris after more than 4 years the CEO of the National Airline, Air Marshal Amir Hayat, and many senior officials including the Director of Commercial, Director of HR, and Director of Technical, 9 officers traveled in the plane’s Economy Plus, even one director traveled along with his family in Economy Plus Class on the PIA expenditures.
Apart from the ticketed passengers on the flight, 11 top PIA officials and their family members were also traveling on free tickets and at government expense to Paris.
Flight operation of national airline to Europe resumed after 4 and a half years, the first flight departed with 100% booking. Which was a good gesture for the airline’s economy but the CEO and other officers made it bitter for the Nation.
According to airline sources, the officers arriving in Paris and their family members will stay at least 2 days in a five-star hotel at the expense of the national airline. Apart from this, these officers will also receive a huge amount of OCS allowance for overseas duty. A team of national airline officials has already arrived in Paris via a foreign airline for the protocol duty of senior officials departing from Pakistan.
According to the Ministry of Privatization, there is a plan to privatize the national airline due to annual losses of billions of rupees.
