On the directions of CPO Sahibzada Bilal Umar, a vigorous crackdown was carried out across the district over the past three days against violations of traffic laws, resulting in fines exceeding Rs 20 million. Action was taken against 8,390 motorcyclists riding without helmets, imposing fines worth Rs 16.78 million, while 714 motorcycles were impounded.
For one-way violations, 1,569 individuals were ticketed, with fines amounting to Rs 3.138 million, and 305 vehicles were impounded. Against vehicles without number plates, 335 challans were issued, imposing Rs 104,600 in fines and 97 vehicles were seized.
For smoke-emitting and unsafe vehicles, authorities issued 1,239 challans, collected Rs 2.0235 million in fines, and impounded 258 vehicles. For underage and unlicensed driving, 2,835 challans were issued, fines worth Rs 2.445 million collected, and 383 vehicles were seized. Furthermore, 135 cases were registered under the Punjab Motor Vehicles Ordinance for serious violations.
According to the CPO Faisalabad, strict enforcement of traffic laws is essential for protecting citizens’ lives, and this campaign will continue in the future as well.
