ISLAMABAD: SuperNova School marked a milestone in its journey of academic excellence with a record-breaking High Achievers Ceremony 2025, held on Saturday at the Centaurus Ballroom, Mövenpick Hotel Islamabad. The event celebrated 900 students who secured a remarkable 1,150 medals and shields for their outstanding performance in the June 2025 Cambridge examinations.
The ceremony was attended by prominent national figures, including Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, National Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Tourism and CEO of Centaurus Group, and Zohair Majeed, Director Faisal Town, who lauded the institution for its contribution to education and innovation. Both guests commended the students, parents and faculty for nurturing a culture of excellence that reflected Pakistan’s potential for global recognition.
In his keynote address, SuperNova Board Member Navid Sultan highlighted the school’s extraordinary results, which included 236 straight A’s, 2,090 A* and A grades, and 3,090 A*, A and B grades. He emphasised that these achievements were not mere statistics but proof of what becomes possible when talent is guided by dedication and inspired teaching.
Since its establishment in 2013, SuperNova has rapidly grown to become the second largest Cambridge International School in North Pakistan and the eighth largest in the country. It now ranks among the top 20 Cambridge schools worldwide, out of a network of more than 10,000 institutions across 160 countries. Over the past nine years, its students have secured 85 Cambridge distinctions, including 13 Top in World, 20 Top in Pakistan, 28 Top in North Pakistan, 23 Best Across awards and one High Achievement Award.
The ceremony also showcased the school’s strong record in extracurricular pursuits. Students earned 700 medals at the World Scholars Cup Islamabad Round, with nine qualifying for the global round in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and advancing to the Tournament of Champions at Yale University. International achievements included Ammara Khan’s victory at the Hippo English Contest in Rome and Hamna Waqas’s first place at the KSF Grand Finale, which earned her a cash prize of Rs.200,000. SuperNova students also attended prestigious summer programmes at universities including Stanford, Harvard, Yale, MIT, Oxford, Columbia, Cornell and Princeton.
This year, SuperNova graduates secured 657 international university acceptances, backed by scholarships worth more than Rs.9 billion. Among these were 32 full or higher scholarships and an exceptional 150 per cent scholarship at Harvard University valued at approximately Rs.12 crore. Several graduates earned placements in Ivy League institutions, including Weill Cornell, Columbia, Harvard, Dartmouth and Cornell University, alongside a Cambridge Law acceptance.
The evening closed with loud applause for the students, parents and faculty members. Addressing the gathering, Mr Sultan remarked that the occasion was not an endpoint but a new beginning, symbolising journeys that would carry the SuperNova legacy to every corner of the world.
