The Rawalpindi District Emergency Officer (DEO) Rawalpindi on Monday declared a state of “Code Red” in response to the ongoing floods across Punjab, directing all emergency personnel to remain on high alert until further orders.
According to the official order issued on September 8, all leaves and day-offs have been cancelled for the entire duration of Code Red, with strict adherence to the Flood Contingency Plan 2025. Emergency staff have been instructed to ensure full operational readiness of vehicles, flood rescue equipment, medicines, and communication systems.
The DEO also directed preemptive repairs and maintenance of tools and vehicles, effective coordination between all wings, and round-the-clock presence of responsible officers in their respective areas of responsibility. Staff attendance, duty rosters, and operational reports will be compiled daily for submission.
The measures aim to strengthen backup support for flood-affected districts and prevent any operational lapses as heavy rains continue to impact Punjab.
