The process of receiving applications under the government Hajj scheme is actively ongoing, with a significant number of applicants already having submitted their requests. According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a total of 91,300 applications have so far been received through the online portal and designated banks. The collection of applications will continue until August 16; however, the process will be halted immediately once the available quota of Hajj seats is filled, regardless of the date.
This year, the government is offering two Hajj packages: a standard 40-day long stay and a shorter 25-day option. Applicants are required to submit their first installment at the time of application—either five hundred thousand or five and a half hundred thousand rupees, depending on the chosen package. The second installment of the Hajj dues will be collected beginning November 1.
The scheme is not limited to residents within Pakistan; Pakistani passport holders living abroad are also eligible to apply under this initiative. The Ministry has emphasized the importance of timely submission, especially as the demand continues to rise and the seats are being allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
