The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Lahore has arrested two employees of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) for their alleged involvement in corruption and embezzlement worth crores of rupees. The arrested individuals, identified as Muhammad Shahbaz and Muhammad Muneeb Tahir, were found to be involved in a major scam that caused a loss of over Rs 1 crore to the national exchequer.
According to the details, Muhammad Shahbaz was posted as an Assistant Substation Attendant at Grade Station Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, while Muhammad Muneeb Tahir was working as a Line Superintendent in Hamza Town Sub-Division. The accused were found to have embezzled 90,000 kilograms of used conductors from the 132 KVA Grade Station Kacha Jail Road, Lahore, through mutual collusion.
The FIA Lahore Zone Director stated that the accused would be given strict punishment according to the law, emphasizing the agency’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption. The FIA Spokesperson confirmed that an investigation has been launched into the matter, and the accused are facing severe consequences for their actions.
