Court Approves Reference Against 9 Accused in E-11 Land Allotment Scandal

The Accountability Court Islamabad has approved a reference for a preliminary hearing regarding alleged misappropriation and illegal allotment of land in Sector E-11 of the federal capital. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference against nine accused, including former CDA officers and others. The accused include former Director Land CDA Khalid Mahmood, Shaista Sohail, Raja Zahid Hussain, and several members of the Syed Ghulam family.

According to the reference, the authority took notice of the illegal allotment based on a source report, which named Syed Ghulam Hassanuddin and others. The investigation revealed that former CDA officers illegally allotted government land to the accused in exchange for benefits. During the investigation, four private individuals applied for a plea bargain, which further supports the guilt of the accused.

The court of Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakar of Accountability Court No. 1 has issued summons to the accused and fixed the case for hearing on May 20. The reference requests that the accused be tried and punished for corruption and corrupt practices.
