Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff narrowly escaped a shooting incident in Mumbai, but two people, including his driver, were injured.
According to Indian media, on Sunday evening, unknown assailants fired 3 to 4 shots at Tiger Shroff’s car in the Juhu area of Mumbai. Tiger Shroff was safe in the shooting incident, while the actor’s driver was shot in the arm, and a nearby rickshaw driver was also injured.
According to the report, the shooting took place when Tiger Shroff was returning from the ground after playing football. At that time, a crowd of people had gathered there to see the actor. Taking notice of the incident, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has sought a report from the police, while the Mumbai Police has formed teams to investigate the shooting incident.
Tiger Shroff’s father and famous actor Jackie Shroff told reporters that his son is safe.
On the other hand, after the shooting incident, a person claimed responsibility for the attack in a video on social media, claiming to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
According to Indian media, in the said video, a person named Anil Pandit claimed that he had warned Tiger Shroff before. The message also threatened other people from Bollywood who work with actor Salman Khan.
However, the authenticity of these claims and the involvement of this gang in the shooting incident could not be independently verified. The police have also not yet confirmed who was behind the attack.
It should be noted that in April 2024, two men riding a motorcycle opened fire outside Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Bandra, Mumbai. Later, the police registered a case against Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, in connection with the incident.
Lawrence Bishnoi is currently in jail in the Indian state of Gujarat. He is known to have a strong animosity towards Salman Khan. The reason for this animosity is said to be Salman Khan’s alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan. The blackbuck is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community.
