Buenos Aires: Argentina’s world-renowned footballer Lionel Messi made his last international match memorable with a stunning victory.

In the match played in front of more than 85,000 spectators at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires, Lionel Messi assisted first Nicolas Otamendi and then Nico Paz’s goals and scored his own goal from the penalty spot in the 71st minute to make the score 0-3, which was his 126th international goal for Argentina.

The 39-year-old footballer ended his 21-year international football career for Argentina with this match. He left as the player who played 208 matches for the national team, the most caps and the record goal scorer.

Lionel Messi appeared emotional several times before and during the last match of his international football career, tears welled up in the star footballer’s eyes during the national anthem.

The stadium also highlighted the number 10 of Lionel Messi’s jersey with a special message in his honor. Not only that, but in the 10th minute of the match, the fans stopped the game and applauded for 1 minute in honor of the star footballer’s jersey number 10.

At the end of the match, Lionel Messi was paid tribute through a drone show.

It should be noted that Lionel Messi will continue to represent Inter Miami in club football for the time being.
