Islamabad: The FIA Counter-Terrorism Wing has arrested NADRA Assistant Director Aftab for allegedly trying to restore the cancelled identity cards of 51 Afghan citizens.
According to sources, the accused had allegedly received Rs 120 million from Afghan citizens to restore their identity cards. After the arrest, the FIA also raided the accused’s house, from where Rs 1.9 million in cash was recovered.
Sources say that the accused allegedly bought assets with the remaining money received as bribe, while there are also reports of buying plots in Havelian and Sector G-15 of Islamabad.
According to FIA sources, the authorities have also obtained documents related to the plot in G-15, while further investigation into the matter is underway.
