Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, while addressing the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, said that Iran will not surrender to military force in a war with the United States, but Iran believes in diplomacy to end the conflict.
At the beginning of his speech, the Iranian president showed pictures of the martyred Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and the school children of Minab who were the victims of American and Zionist attacks.
He said that the United States dropped cluster bombs on an Iranian town in which innocent civilians, women and children were martyred. He said that international laws were not taken into account in the attacks on hospitals and schools, which have killed hundreds of people and displaced thousands.
The Iranian president made it clear that we are not terrorists, we are defending ourselves against aggression. He said that Iran has exercised its right to self-defense and only targeted American targets in retaliation, not civilians.
Strongly criticizing the double standards of the international community, President Masoud Pezeshkian said, “Israel commits genocide and sanctions are imposed on Iran; this is a double standard.”
Reacting strongly to US President Donald Trump’s statements, he said that Trump has declared us terrorists even though we ourselves have been victims of terrorism. He said that those who are terrorists themselves accuse us of being terrorists.
The Iranian president said that the US president should know that threats and dangers unite the Iranian nation. Regarding the security of the region and waterways, President Pezeshkian said that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be used to transport weapons that can be used against Iran under any circumstances.
As soon as the Iranian president began his speech, the US delegate walked out of the General Assembly session.
